"Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls."

Hebrews 4:14King James Version (KJV)

14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

Proverbs 15:29King James Version (KJV)

29 The Lord is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

Psalm 102:17  (KJV)

17 He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.

Psalm 17:6 (KJV)

6 I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.

1 Chronicles 16:11King James Version (KJV)

11 Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face continually.

BUT GOD ALSO SAYS:

Deuteronomy 6:16 (KJV)

16 Ye shall not tempt the Lord your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.

Matthew 4:7-10 (KJV)

7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Luke 11:29 (KJV)

29 And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet.

Most of us Monday-Saturday spend our time trying to keep up with the world. We all seem to be busy in today’s world. Even my retired grandparents seem to be busier now that they ever were while working.

It is in this business that we often lose track of God. He is long forgotten until next Sunday when we realize we need to pick Him up again. We grab our Bibles which sat Idly on our coffee tables (most of us never get it out of our cars) and we head over to attend service.
  • Isn’t if funny that God tells us to have faith like that of children?
-What’s funnier is that He can quickly flip that back around on us.
-Have you ever paid attention to how children pick things up about us, habits that we have that we ourselves don’t even notice?
-When a child picks up on a weakness or habit, they will use that to their advantage and train themselves to always when rejected, seek out that weakness until they get what they seek.

My kids know that they can win my wife over with kindness and sweetness, me not as much. Sadness works better for me.
We have trained them with that over time when we finally give in on situation after situation.
Children figure out really fast what types of behaviors gets them attention. After being a father, working in youth ministry, and being a juvenile justice officer, it is often easy to tell which children had good parents who paid them mind and who didn’t. I can tell you that most of those kids locked up did not because they figured out that bad behavior got them recognized by their peers and caused adults to surround them on all sides. They began to associate their negative behavior with the attention they got when they committed it. Now, instead of their parents doing their jobs, they are locked up with us and we are expected to give them the best care and treatment as if they were doing a good job and critique us.

  • Jesus knows our habits as well. The Scripture tells us that He already knows the number of hairs on our heads, why wouldn’t He know our habits as He knows our hearts?
  • What He has figured out over time is that many of us are only paying him mind only when emergencies come our way.
  • Let an incident with our family happen or our bank account go broke and we are on our knees, begging God for help….but only after all other options have failed.
  • By this time, we done called every doctor for Aunt Bell, called every bank for a loan (and got one even though the interest is 50%), and give both of our kidneys for a car we cant afford to keep in the first place. We don’t go to God first, we go to him last because HE ALWAYS WAS LAST ON OUR LISTS!
  • WE ONLY WANT A 911 JESUS!

Get HIM on the phone, hurry up, call 911 Jesus because I don’t think I can take another minute.
  • How many times do you think He will bail us out before He realizes that we only need him in our bad times, better yet, how much do you think you will be dealing with bad situations in your life? After all, you set yourself up for it!

* You know when calling a dispatcher in an emergency, that person on the phone does not know you personally.
  • That dispatcher doesn’t know your name, they have to find out your address in order to send the first responders, they ask you specific questions regarding the condition of the person in need of help. Like that dispatcher, if Jesus doesn’t ever hear from us, how is He supposed to help us if we don’t talk to Him on a regular basis. Those who are in constant fervent prayer are always in constant contact with God and there is no mistaking their first point of contact in a situation. They also seem to have less issues.

  • We can’t expect God to Keep us out of trouble if the only time we seek Him is when we are in trouble. He wants us to draw close to Him, so if you force Him to allow problems to come to you in order to draw you near to Him, you can bet that will begin to become a consistent pattern in your life.

When Rescue Finally Arrives And You Are In The Midst of Your Trouble, How Do They Treat You?
  • Most Likely you will be seen by EMS first.
  • They will assess your situation and check to see if you are breathing and have a pulse.
Some of Us Are In Need of a Spiritual Defibulator
  • Many of us are spiritually dead and in need of being resuscitated---- you are dead because Jesus is not in your heart—that EMS is checking for a heartbeat, but there isn’t one--------somebody call 911 Jesus!

That EMS is Like The Holy Ghost: He Is Your Guide, Protector, Provides Conviction, And Prays For Us……………911 Jesus
Finally They Get You Loaded Up In The Ambulance and On The Way To The Hospital For Professional Medical Help And Healing.
Isn’t That Just Like God, To Allow The Enemy To Knock Us Off Our Feet, Just Enough So He Can Bring Us Back To Him. And When We Embrace His Loving Arms, He Sets Us Back On Path For His Will.

1 John 5:14-15King James Version (KJV)
14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

911 JESUS… ONCE AGAIN HE HAS SAVED A LIFE!

Don’t Wait Until Jesus Has To Bring You Back To Life Again Before You Heed This Warning, This Time Stay Close and Draw Near To Him…..Don’t Make Him A 911 Jesus!
